SCHOLARSHIPS


1.National Loan Scholarship


Given to the Indian Nationals for all courses after matriculation or S.S.L.C. leading to Degree, Post Graduate and Post M.A./M.Sc. Stages. Those who gain 50% aggregate marks in S.S.L.C. or +2 Examination in the first attempt are eligible. Income limit is Rs. 25,000/- for under graduates. For others no income limit. Students who get Scholarship/Stipend under any other scheme are not eligible.


2.Kerala University Merit Scholarship

a) For the Three Year B.A. / B.Sc. Course
Eligibilty :Not less than 950 marks in the +2 Examination in the first attempt. Scholarship amount is Rs 900/- per annum


3.Govt. of India National Merit Scholarship

Eligibility:First class in the qualifying examination. Those who top the merit list within the quota alloted to the State will be eligible, subject to certain conditions. Those who have passed the qualifying examination in the year prior to the year of award will be eligible. Students enjoying any other scholarship or stipend will not be considered for the award but they can enjoy fee concession.
4. Merit Scholarship for the children of School Teachers
Eligibility: Children of Primary and Secondary school teachers alone are eligible. Students enjoying any other scholarship will not be considered. Income of parents should not exceed Rs. 6,000/-per mensum
10. Educational concession to the Forward and Backward Com munities under Kumara Pillai Commission Report.
11.Kerala State Higher Education Council Scholarship:
Eligibility:- 1st year UG and PG students, who have secured 55% marks in qualifying examination in previous year can apply in on-line (http:// dcescholarship. kerala.gov.in/hecscholarship/main). The scholarships will be given on the basis of annual income. Scholarship amount for post graduate students is Rs. 40,000/- in 1st year and 60,000/- in 2nd year.
12. Directorate of Collegiate Education (DCE) Scholarships: Notifications and guidelines are available at http:// dcescholarship. kerala.gov.in. Registration of all scholarship applications are through on-line.
a) Post Metric scholarship:
Eligibility:
1st year UG and PG students, who have secured 55% marks in qualifying examination in previous year, can apply. Candidates should belong to minority community for the annual income o their parents should not exceed Rs.2 lacs. Scholarship amount for the degree & post graduate students is Rs.3,000/- per year.
b) State merit Scholarship:
Eligibility:
1st year UG and PG students, who have can apply. The annual income of their parents should not examinations in previous year can apply. The annual income of their parents should not exceed Rs. 1 lacs. Scholarship amount for the degree students is Rs.1,500/- per year.
C) Muslim Girls Scholarship:
Eligibility:
1st year UG and PG students, who have secured 55% marks in qualifying examination in previous year, can apply. Girl candidates should belong to Muslim, Latin catholic, converted Christian, and annual income o their parents should not exceed Rs.4.5 lacs. Scholarship amount for the degree student is Rs.4,000/- per year and post graduate students is Rs.12,000/- per year (incl. Hostel fee).
d) Central Sector Scholarship:
Eligibility:
1st year UG and PG students, who have secured 80% marks in qualitying examination in previous year, can apply. The annual income o their parents should not exceed Rs.6 lacs. Scholarship amount for the degree student are Rs.20,000/- per year.
e) Suvarna jubilee Merit Scholarship:
Eligibility:
1st year UG and PG students, who have secured 55% marks in qualifying examination in previous year can apply. Candidates should belong to BPL family and annual income o their parents should not exceed Rs.1 lacs. Scholarship amount for the degree students are Rs.10,000/- per year.


PRIZES & AWARDES


13. K.K. Velu Memorial Scholarships
This is instituted by M/s. Bharat Trusts, Kanichukulangara to perpetuate the memory of the Late K.K. Velu of Charangattu. The Scheme consists of 5 Scholarships of Rs.200/- each payable to 5 students of different disciplines on mean cum merit basis for each year of study in this College
14. P.T. A. Scholarships
The Parent Teacher Association awards Rs 500/- to Degree students and Rs 1,000/- to Post Graduate students who score highest marks in each subject. This came into effect in 2004 -2005. P.T.A. awards are given to students who are outstanding in the field of sports, N.C.C. and N.S.S
15. Prof: K.U. Eapen Memorial Endowment
This is instituted by Prof: Thresiamma Eapen for the Student Securing Highest marks in Final Year B.Sc. Zoology (Rs: 1500) and Final Year M.Sc. Zoology (Rs: 2000)
16. V.M. Anoop Memorial Award :
The Award of Rs: 1000 is given to the Student Securing Highest marks in B.Sc. Chemistry
17. P.C Sasikumar Memorial Award:
This award of Rs: 1000 is given to the best Student in Final BA Malayalam.
18.P.O Purushothaman Memorial Award: This Award of Rs: 1500 is given to the best student of Second Year BA Malayalam
19.O.S Sanjeev Memorial Award:
Sanjeevanam Puraskaram with certificate, trophy and cash prize of Rs. 2000/- is given to the best student in final year B.A Malayalam. This prize is sponsored by the former students of the department.
